Tim is an energetic designer who loves to explore the possibilities of what he can create-- and it all started with some Legos.
Ask at what point he got his foot in the door in the creative industry, and Tim will tell you it started the moment he picked up his first Lego. Following his passion, Tim earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Industrial Design and has continued to diligently study and create environments, products, and interactions for software and the web.
Tim’s expertise includes graphic design, product brainstorming and production, 2D and 3D model and prototype building, identity packaging and implementing human factors knowledge into user interface design. A strong collaborator and independent worker, Tim is also adept at integrating research into product development. Tim’s desire to continue learning emerging technologies keeps his perspective fresh and his work cutting edge.
Tim finds renewed inspiration from simply observing and talking with people. He looks up to cartoonist and comic theorist Scott McCloud because of his ability to present complex ideas in a simple fashion. If he had to choose a different career path, Tim says he’d love to work in a ski resort or national park somewhere. And though he’s well-versed in the nuances of technology, Tim isn’t at all reluctant to admit that to this day, he still likes to play with Legos.

Graphics Localization Services
FILTER provides comprehensive localization/globalization services. We partner with translation providers and facilitate all or a portion of a localization engagement. Our services include preparation and “translation” of graphics and video components for adaptation to various languages, cultures and regions.
Media types include:
- Static Graphics
- Animated Graphics
- Windows Media Video (with audio)
Our workflow process involves creating English graphics with text layers, submitting them to the translation/globalization firm, and managing the final file production.
FILTER played a vital role in the successful, global release of Vista in 2007, supporting Microsoft’s global initiatives. FILTER also provided video localization. We localized Vista videos in 35 languages and 15 additional languages and dialects including: Konkani, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, and Kazakh—a total of 50 localizations!

Image Management and Photo Editing services
The FILTER
image editing and acquisitions teams process and manage large volumes of image
assets for our customers. We acquire and
prepare image assets for content distribution platforms and publishing. In addition, we intake and process raw
digital asset files and prep them for editing, search and data storage systems.
Our photo editors are highly skilled in publishing, have an eye for editorial
and are extremely talented.
We partner with Microsoft’s image acquisition team and licensing team;
together the photo editors provide all of the images on the MSN.com homepage
and affiliated channels (e.g. Food, Health, Money, News, and Weather). They use stock photography agencies to
research, select, produce and deliver final, web-ready images. according to the specifications selected by
the Microsoft Site Managers and Producers
FILTER has
developed a stellar production model and workflow system that creates
efficiencies for customers seeking solutions for their image and asset
production needs.
Success for
these projects is constantly monitored, as timely delivery of images
(particularly on breaking stories) is everything. After all, when news is hot, every second
counts.
