Are you an experienced Flash Developer with a collaborative work style and the ability to multitask? FILTER has a contract opportunity (with the possibility of contract-to-hire) for a Flash Developer in Los Angeles. In this position, you’ll work with a Fortune 500 client on high profile projects in the entertainment sector.  

The Flash Developer will build standards compliant, cross-browser/platform Flash components and web pages while also defining and overseeing technical architecture. Our ideal candidate is not only a Flash-fanatic, but consistently meets deadlines—even while juggling multiple responsibilities—and provides solid leadership and guidance to other team members.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Game development using Flash
• Daily development of front-end web pages using XHTML, CSS and XML
• Client side scripting of interactive site components and ad system integration using JavaScript, DHTML, and AJAX
• Music player and Multimedia player development using Flash and ActionScript
• Graphic preparation and slicing of layered comps provided by design team
• Evaluating and recommending emerging technologies
• Performing website updates on a scheduled and as-needed basis
  

SKILLS YOU’LL NEED

• Minimum 6 years of web development experience, preferably in media and entertainment
• Expert knowledge of XHTML, DHTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Solid understanding of web standards and IA/UI best practices
• Experience with JavaScript Frameworks (MooTools, Prototype, jQuery) and AJAX
• Extensive experience in at least one object-oriented, server-side scripting language such as PHP, ASP, JSP or similar
• Experience with Flash application development, ActionScript 3, ActionScript 2.0 a plus
• Strong understanding of Content Management Systems
• Proven ability to develop applications across multiple complex environments with varying configurations (DEV, STAGE, PROD)
• Resourcefulness in troubleshooting complex problems, finding available internal solutions, as well as developing new solutions based on external sources
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
• Familiarity with 3rd-party ad serving and analytics integration a plus
• Video encoding and player development a plus
