User Experience + Interaction Design: Flash Developer

Los Angeles | Client Site | Short Term | Contract

FILTER has a 3-month contract opportunity in Los Angeles for a Flash Developer who is a collaborative team player with 2 to 5 years of professional experience.

This position is with a leading sports site with a large audience. The Flash Developer will be responsible for developing dynamic Flash-based features and applications.

Our ideal candidate is passionate about user experience and product flow, and an interest in sports doesn’t hurt either. CSS and HTML/DHTML/XML competency is required as well as expert knowledge of Flash/ActionScript and JavaScript. If you can work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and you excel in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.  

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Develop custom Flash applications using ActionScript and MDP
• Creation of Dynamic flash based XML/RSS readers
• Design, create and program JavaScript UI enhancements flash integration
• Proactively make suggestions regarding UI best practices and current design trends

SKILLS YOU’LL NEED

• 2-5 years professional UI Development with a focus on Flash/ActionScript2 and ActionScript3/XML and JavaScript experience
• Formal design training
• Expert knowledge of Flash animation/design
• Working knowledge of ActionScript (hand coding preferred), Media Server (Socket Programming/Shared Objects), OOP/OOD
• Solid knowledge of CSS and HTML/ DHTML and the capabilities of Web browsers is essential
• Strong foundation in visual/interface design, motion graphics and UI design
• Ability to communicate complex visual and structural components, and knowledge of interactive design concepts, wireframes and userflow diagrams
• Proficiency in all Adobe Creative Suite applications
• Strong attention to detail, and willing to give a pixel here or there
• Strong organization and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
• Team player able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience taking direction and working with analysts to develop creative solutions
